The Department of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing provides quality teaching and offers best learning experience for learners. It provides courses in Obstetrical and Gynaecological nursing with theoretical and practical components to undergraduate and postgraduate students and mould them with essential skills and knowledge to deliver inclusive maternal and neonatal care. The department promotes research in the prime areas of women’s reproductive health by staff with experience and doctoral qualification. We offer effective and proficient amenities to our students to empower them to serve as educators, managers and researchers in the field of maternity nursing.The Central competences are inclusive nursing care to women in pregnancy and childbirth, integrated learning of theory and practice, evidence-based clinical learning, development of interactive skills and professionalism.
Obstetrics and Gynaecology lab
Set up in a vision to provide a preliminary effective experience in taking care of mother and new-born. It is equipped(912.66 sq. ft.) with birthing simulators, Obstetric manikins, Pelvis, Foetal skull, specimens, obstetrical instruments, 3D models and charts. This helps the undergraduates and post graduate students to acquire knowledge and skills in rendering nursing care to normal and high risk women during antenatal, intranatal and postnatal periods in hospital and community settings.
